Von Trapp Family Lodge
The von Trapp family's own Austrian-inspired mountain resort in Stowe, Vermont, spread across 2,600 acres in the Green Mountains and still run by the family. It grew from the farm they settled in 1942 into a 27-room ski lodge by 1950; after a 1980 fire destroyed the original, it was rebuilt in Austrian alpine style and today has 96 rooms and suites plus guesthouses and villas, a working farm, and — since 2010 — its own brewery, von Trapp Brewing.
